Your role at Knauf :
Mission:
The Regional Finance Systems & Process Manager is the process owner for SAP accounting and controlling in the region. Acting as the coordinator for COPA and other controlling modules, this role ensures that finance processes are consistently mirrored in ERP systems and that local and regional controllers have the tools and knowledge to operate effectively.
Beyond operational support, the role leads continuous improvement initiatives, manages finance-related projects, and will play a pivotal role in the transition to SAP S/4HANA, ensuring that business requirements are translated into effective system and process design.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP Finance Process Ownership :
- Act as regional process owner for SAP FI/CO modules, including COPA (profitability analysis).
- Ensure finance processes are properly mirrored in SAP (from accounting entries to controlling flows) according to the group standard ERP processes
- Provide guidance and support to local controllers on system usage, master data, and reporting logic.
- Maintain alignment with Group Finance/IT on ERP standards and updates.
- Train & Coach local and regional controllers on standards group SAP FI/CO processes.
Regional COPA Coordination :
- Manage design, consistency, and quality of COPA structures across 7 countries.
- Validate data flows and reporting outputs to ensure accurate profitability reporting.
- Manage regional product hierarchy in collaboration with product management department.
- Train and support regional and local controllers in COPA usage and interpretation.
Continuous Improvement & Projects :
- Lead finance continuous improvement (CI) projects in Accounting and Controlling by optimizing SAP processes, reporting flows, and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with global process owners in accounting and controlling to spread best practices, align and streamline process.
- Manage and deliver finance-related system projects (new tools, SAP enhancements, data quality initiatives)
- Support BI Analyst and controllers by ensuring smooth integration of ERP data into reporting tools.
Future SAP S/4HANA Implementation :
- Act as a key regional representative in the SAP S/4HANA transition.
- Gather business requirements from controllers, finance managers, and CFOs.
- Liaise with Group IT and consultants to ensure future system design reflects business needs.
- Champion change management and user readiness for the new platform.
Your assets for this position :
Education & Experience :
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in controlling, finance systems, or ERP project management.
- Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO and understanding of end-to-end data flows is must. Experience with ERP transitions (S/4HANA exposure strongly preferred).
- Track record in process improvement or project management (Prince2, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma an advantage).
Skills :
- Strong understanding of finance and business processes, and how they translate into ERP flows.
- Analytical thinker, able to troubleshoot system/process issues and propose solutions.
- Project management skills — able to lead CI projects across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communicator, able to bridge between finance users and IT specialists.
- Ownership and initiative — comfortable designing solutions, not only running existing ones.
- Fluent in English; other European languages an asset.
