Your role at Knauf :
Mission:
The Regional Finance Governance & Risk Manager ensures that the region operates in full compliance with Group policies, local regulations, and international standards.
The role reinforces financial governance and compliance, coordinates corporate tax, transfer pricing, and treasury/cash distribution, and manages the regional finance entity’s own costs and budgets, including recharges to countries.
As the guardian of governance this role is responsible for aligning local ways of working and decision-making to group standards, implementing internal controls, reinforcing best practices, designing and implementing new policies and establishing clear governance processes and reports.
Regional Finance & Governance Manager leads the regional risk management framework — identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks.
The role acts as a central guardian of internal controls, audit follow-up, and risk prevention, while also supporting the CFO in governance projects such as establishing and administering a new regional legal entity
Key Responsibilities:
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Group financial policies, accounting standards, and internal governance frameworks.
- Translate Group policies into standard regional processes and monitor countries’ adherence to new standards.
- Collaborate with compliance department in strengthening of existing compliance policies.
- Act as the primary contact point for internal and external auditors, ensuring timely implementation of audit recommendations.
- Promote best practices and share lessons learned across the region
Risk Management
- Lead the regional risk management framework, identifying key financial and operational risks across the region.
- Review local countries risks, build market risk profiles, consolidate and standardize market inputs
- Develop and monitor risk mitigation plans in collaboration with controllers and country finance teams.
- Report regularly to the Regional CFO and Group on risk exposure and progress in mitigation.
Tax, Transfer Pricing & Treasury
- Coordinate corporate tax and transfer pricing compliance across the region, ensuring alignment with Group tax strategy.
- Liaise with Group Tax and Treasury to optimize structures while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Monitor cash distribution, dividend flows, and financing arrangements.
Legal Entity Administration
- Manage financial and governance aspects of establishing and maintaining a potential regional legal entity.
- Oversee statutory requirements, filings, and board reporting in coordination with Group Legal/Finance.
- Ensure proper documentation, contracts, and compliance procedures are in place for the entity.
Regional Function Finance Management
- Own the budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for the regional finance function itself.
- Manage cost allocations and recharges to countries, ensuring transparency and fairness.
- Provide regular reporting on regional function costs to the CFO and Regional heads.
Your assets for this position :
Education & Experience :
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics
- 7+ years of experience in finance governance, internal controls, audit, tax, or treasury (Big4, multinational, or corporate experience strongly valued).
- Solid knowledge of internal control frameworks and risk management.
- Experience in coordinating tax and transfer pricing in multinational structures.
- Experience with corporate governance and legal entity administration in France.
Skills :
- Strong governance, compliance, and risk management expertise.
- Solid understanding of tax, treasury, and cash distribution processes.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to establish new processes from scratch across various functions.
- High integrity and ability to act as a trusted “gatekeeper” for compliance and risk control.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, yet pragmatic and business-oriented.
- Strong communication and influencing skills — able to drive adoption of governance standards across multiple countries.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages an asset.
